Stuck at this house show

A better option is available all of the time
At some point I stopped caring about getting it right

I finally made it out during setup
Between bands four and five
My ears were ringing, watching the cars go by
I saw one that its trunk held shut
With bungee cords and twine
I went to look closer but at my shoulder
Were those eyes
So I said, “Hey there, you really surprised me”
And I asked him if he saw the car and he answered

“Wow, take a look at that moon”
Leaning on a cloud
Shaped like a fainting couch
In those buckshot stars
And sure I looked and it was all nice enough
But I felt interrupted
So I made some excuse to go back inside
Though they hadn’t set up yet

A better option is available all of the time
At some point I stopped caring about getting it right
